William Wiah Tuider
WEST AFRICA—Liberia holds presidential and legislative elections next week Tuesday, which will be October 10, 2017. There are twenty presidential candidates and twenty vice presidential candidates duly certificated by the country’s national election commission to contest the 10 October 2017’s election.
Among the twenty presidential and twenty vice presidential candidates, Globe Afrique has discovered one fake presidential candidate and one fake vice-presidential candidate. William Wiah Tuider and Davel Dixon, both of whom are running as presidential candidate and vice- presidential candidate on the purported ticket of the New Liberia Party (NLP) are fake, according to Globe Afrique research.
Reports reaching Globe Afrique revealed that these are not serious candidates, but hustlers who are believed to have bribed insiders within the system to pose as presidential candidate and vice-presidential candidate with the intent of obtaining illicit financial resources from foreign investors and donors through a scamming.
Tuider and Dixon are satirical candidates cashing in on the flood of money in politics and investors interested in doing business in Liberia.
Both Tuider and Dixon are not affiliate nor registered members of the New Liberia Party. The party’s leadership and founders have no idea who they are and what they represent. Besides, they have never identified with the party.
According to Globe Afrique’s research, Tuider and Dixon allegedly bribed unnamed insiders at the electoral body and others connected to the working of the institution to obtain documentations in the name of the New Liberia Party (NLP) which has decided not to feature a presidential candidate in the 2017 presidential election, but instead opted to forge alliance with other political parties, notably the Alternative National Congress (ANC) of Alexander B. Cummings, Jr.
Upon obtaining the National Election Commission’s credentials, Tuider and Dixon, the two purported New Liberia Party’s candidates traveled to several West African states as well as Asia to allegedly convince business people and investors for funds, promising business opportunities.
According to the chairman of the New Liberia Party, Menplay Forlorma, and the party’s political leader, Mohamed S. Kromah, the party has given its support and is currently working with the presidential campaign of Mr. Alexander B. Cummings, Jr., the political leader and presidential candidate of the Alternative National Congress (ANC) in the upcoming presidential election. Both the party chairman and its political leader say they are unaware of William Wiah Tuider neither have they ever met or communicated with him.
To ensure credibility to the upcoming electoral process and the result, the National Election Commission of Liberia needs to nullify the candidacy of the purported presidential and vice-presidential candidacy of Messrs. William Wiah Tuider and Davel Dixon.
Meanwhile, all efforts by Globe Afrique to reach William Wiah Tuider and Davel Dixon proves futile. Globe Afrique plans to follow up with the leadership of the NEC on Monday to obtain more information regarding this matter.
