Liberia Children’s Health Updates

 Peter Visits Liberia

After a seemingly unending two-stop flight, we finally touched down at Roberts International Airport. The thick heat and humidity blanketed my tired frame as I hurried off the plan in order to avoid the long wait at immigration and customs. Quickly locating my ride, we knifed through the canopy of darkness that encased the narrow, two-lane highway from the airport to Paynesville. In spite of the dangerous 45-minute ride, I was delirious to be in Liberia. Important work awaited. With only a few hours of sleep, I was ready to hit the ground running on Saturday morning. In the picture below, I am visiting with 1st graders at Little Angels Academy during vacation school. Spending time with these precious little ones is always the highlight of time in Liberia.

Healthy Nation Enrolls Two Thousand Kids

In spite of the torrential downpour and suffocating heat, my staff and I navigated bumpy, muddy roads to visit with school principals. In total, we recruited 5 schools, with two others in the pipeline. Healthy Nation will serve 2000 kids in the 2017/2018 school. It is an awesome responsibility and we are grateful for the opportunity to touch the lives of so many people.

Healthy Nation in GA Gives Day

GA Gives Day is a wonderful opportunity for individuals to invest in non-profits that serve diverse causes. On November 28th, Healthy Nation will participate in the 2017 GA Gives Day. This is an opportunity for you to partner with us in serving the 2000 kids currently enrolled in the program. Your generous gift will help us electrify the clinic, improve our lab capacity, and ship sanitary supplies for our girls. Please consider making a generous donation at https://shar.es/1VQjiW

Healthy Nation Distributes Toys

As the celebrated neurosurgeon, Ben Carson once said, “Happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give.” Healthy Nation experienced the joy of giving when we shared gifts with over 100 kids at the beginning of the 2017/2018 school. Students at Little Angels Academy in the Policy Academy community in Paynesville were among the first beneficiaries of this year’s gift distribution program. This was Healthy Nation’s way of welcoming the children to a new school year.

Plan to Visit Liberia in 2018

We are excited to host you in Liberia in 2018! Plan to visit for 7 – 10 days – or longer, as your schedule permits. We welcome partners with diverse skills and expertise; however, critical needs exist for doctors, nurses, and mental health clinicians. Liberia awaits your arrival!
