Niger, Russia to sign military cooperation agreement

MOSCOW – The Russian Federation has agreed to sign an intergovernmental agreement on with the African nation of Niger. The agreement will focus on military cooperation between the two countries.

Niger is a Muslim dominated African state and one of the places facing extremists’ attacks and provocations.

Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian prime minister, has approved a draft agreement submitted by the Defense Ministry with the consent of the Foreign Ministry. The prime minister also ordered the Russian Defense Ministry to sign the document on the Russian government’s behalf.

According sources, the governmental resolution was published on the official legal information website.
