Former U.S. President Obama’s lasting counsel for African leaders

Obama Says He Could “Win A Third Term As President.”

African leaders have developed a tendency of autocracy and greed for power. They do not want to leave office even when their terms are over or when they become old beyond the retirement age or limits.

On September 7, 2017, huge crowds turned out in Togo’s capital, Lome, for the second day running to demand political reform, in the largest opposition protests President Faure Gnassingbe’s regime has witnessed.

Gnassingbe took power in 2005 after the death of his autocratic father, Gnassingbe Eyadema, who had ruled the tiny West African nation from 1967.

From Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe to Paul Biya of Cameroon, dozens of African leaders want to die in office. From changing the constitutions of their countries to imprisoning oppositions, they would do any thing to stay in office.

Former U.S. president Barack H. Obama has a message for Africa as heard in this video during his visit to the African Union in Ethiopia during his second term.
