Ellen Johnson Sirleaf: Queen of the West; Evil in Liberia

By David Sayweh Teah

Unemployed and exploited Liberian Youth

Monrovia, Liberia

Over the years, many of us have been wondering as to why Liberia’s president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Ms. K. Riva Levinson are so personal and closed, and why is Riva so intrinsic into Liberian affairs ––from our daily lives to our economics and politics, and even our most recent electoral process. We have these concerns because the Sirleaf administration is not only corrupt, it is also known for money laundering under false pretense.  It is a regime that has cronies, kinsmen, and women who use front businesses and reasons to launder our country’s wealth to other friends and cronies abroad.  The president is also obsessed with promoting her personal image in the West whilst back home she is the most hated person that walks the earth.

I also became curious as to why most Liberians are not only blaming Riva for touting a morally, politically and economically dangerous President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as a goddess; they are also criticizing her for being a part of expanding corruption in Liberia by knowingly accepting thousands of dollars from a country where corruption is official and organized from the office of the president to President Sirleaf’s residence; where kids are dying from hunger and disease; where the lives of mothers are unimaginably difficult; and where hopelessness is the single largest atmosphere.

Liberian mothers have to get crush rocks and sell just to feed their kids in Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s Liberia.

So, I did my research and here is what I saw: several years of financial payments have been made to Riva’s firm in Washington DC simply to make Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf look good to the American and Western audience.  These payments allegedly exclude what ‘gossips’ say involves millions of dollars to galvanize the Sirleaf’s fake legacy as she compulsorily leaves office on January 15, 2018.

The United States is a capitalist and free market nation, but Americans also are a great people of conscience and a good heart. Since Riva travels to Liberia frequently to dine and merit with her ill-gotten wealth-president friend, doesn’t she see the suffering on the faces of millions of Liberian children?

From 2007 to present, Riva has received close to a million dollars from Liberian taxpayers for the benefit of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s international image. No Liberian child benefits from this. By the way, this is just the so-called reported amount; what is perhaps unreported might leave one to have diarrhea.

Instead of being in school, these Liberian kids spent 12 hours in the streets selling Cool Aid in plastic buckets because their parents are unemployed.

As an unemployed Liberian youth and a struggling university student, I am appealing to Ms. K. Riva Levinson to please see a reason to stop, directly or indirectly, participating in President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s exploitation and destruction of Liberia. The money paid to her (Riva) for work aimed at promoting the selfish and egocentric image of President Sirleaf does not benefit Liberians except Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.  Legality aside, it is plainly immoral to receive such amount of money from a rogue leader whose people are living on a knife-edge.

Here is my issue Ms. K. Riva Levinson. Lots of bad things have been happening in Liberia since Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf took power, and the world has not been able to see inside and behind the evil, misrule, and destruction carried out by this failed president.  One key strength of Liberia’s wicked old lady president is her lobbying that you, Riva Levinson, and the likes of Steve Cashin and others coordinate. You people allegedly twist reality and present talking points to the outside world that sells lies as truths.

The most serious risk with this series of controversial and uncoordinated talking points is that they undermine the most important desire for our nation: peace, unity, transparency, and accountability. No sitting Liberian president has been as divisive, manipulative, corrupt, and deceitful than this aging leader we have.  When an old lady and grandmother is as evil as this president is, it speaks volume that she does not have God in her life.

Life is so difficult that kids travel the cities selling just to survive in Liberia. But the President and her family spend thousands of dollars for personal ambition and greed.

There are hundreds of high school students in Liberia who cannot afford to pay the fees for the West African Examination Council’s (WAEC) national exams due a month from now.  Thousands of students have no access to school and preventive health care, yet our president and her dear son can use our country’s wealth for personal gratification and the promotion of their greed and unlimited ambitions.  Every day, thousands of Liberian families go hungry, others can just strive for the day to pass by.  This is the life in Liberia.  It has reached a point where every young person and even kids have no fear or regard for this demonic ruler we have.  We know that President Sirleaf will continue being evil even to her end because when an entire nation is crying at the hands of one person it means there is a problem or behavior that needs to be adjusted, but in her case, she just does not care.

No one wants our president to be perfect. After all, the commission of evil is a moral problem for everyone, difficult to concede to oneself; hard to grasp in others, and tough to defeat without being true to oneself. In truth, not all evildoers are Lucifer incarnate, as one would say. Some are just mere thugs and it gives them a grandeur—and also a strategic relevance they do not deserve—to call them evil. This is what Liberians face with their elected and appointed leaders.  To see Americans providing talking points for the perpetuation of the misery the Liberian people are going through is bewildering and sad.

Even the disabled are not spared from the evil rule of our leader. The Tweet above summarizes what a disabled Liberian youth had to endure to obtain an education in Liberia. But all of President Sirleaf’s grandkids are on Liberian government’s scholarship in Western nations – USA and UK.

Currently, many of the students at the University of Liberia will not be able to return to class because they cannot afford tuition.  And the university is in the process of increasing the tuition despite protests from students. Everywhere in our country, there is hunger and misery. There is also serious uncertainty in many respects.  Things are really bad in Liberia; we are suffering beyond human imagination, but the talking point you people have created to make a dubious, faulty and un-repented ruler look sinless are now being used effectively as seen in the recent US Embassy press statement, Linda Greenfield’s Washington, DC’s allegedly paid speech, and the failed president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s letter to the U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson signed by two members of the U.S. Congress stating that: 1) there was no fraud or irregularities in the elections as attested by international observer (of course all lies); 2) continuous challenge to a free, fair and transparent election would create a constitutional crisis come constitutional date for inaugurating a new president if there are no elections, which you people claim is plunging the country and the region AGAIN into instability.

This is the manipulated information (lies) that have been effectively sold abroad through failed President Sirleaf’s paid lobbying machine that is undermining the peaceful legal judicial process of Liberia.   My view and the view of most young Liberians whose future is tied to the kind of Liberia we create now is:  If President Sirleaf and company have nothing to fear why do they go around discrediting a legal process? Of course, most serious-minded Liberians know that they fear that the truth would expose a mechanically designed voting system purposely intended to deceptively thwart the true will of the people.

Over the last 45 years of President Sirleaf’s political existence and involvement in Liberian politics, and of our history as a nation and people, the only time our nation has had any semblance of peace was the 12 years Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was president. For the other period, she was busy undermining every president, to the point of having some killed, jailed as well as in destroying the country’s infrastructure and creating almost 2 generations of illiteracy and ignorance, and yet, she just cannot seem to stop, even at 80 years of age.  If this is not absolute evil, then nothing is or can be.

This woman’s days of reckoning are here. History will not be kind to those who use their international influence to join Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in conducting her manipulation, injustice, political and economic corruption against the Liberian people.   Ultimately, God is the outcome of the Liberian resistance against Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s untruths, misrule, corruption, and torture.

About the Author:

David Sayweh Teah is an unemployed but educated Liberian youth who is being exploited as a Liberian citizen because foreign agents paid with Liberian taxpayers’ money are facilitating organized corruption in Liberia by creating talking points and good image for a morally weak, politically unstable, economically untrustworthy, financially corrupt and socially underserving Liberian president while life is hell for children, women, seniors and young people in our country. This group of people (American foreign agents) do not represent the good that we saw in Americans and the United States.  We don’t have power nor influence, but we have God and our pens to expose them and their self-serving Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
