Putin envisages Military-Technical cooperation with Nigeria

Vladimir Putin: Russia’s action man president

MOSCOW––Russian President Vladimir Putin says he sees good prospects for cooperation with Nigeria in military-technical sphere, aluminum production.

“Russia wants to enhance its cooperation with Nigeria in the military-technical sphere and in the aluminum industry,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

“We are for enhancing mutually beneficial Russian-Nigerian ties further, including cooperation in hydrocarbon extraction and aluminum smelting, as well as in the military-technical sphere,” Putin said on Wednesday during a ceremony in which ambassadors of foreign states presented their credentials.

The Russian leader also highlighted Russia’s “close military-technical cooperation with Vietnam,” saying that “in general, bilateral interaction [with that country] is on the rise” now.

Putin, however, was not as hopeful about his country’s relations with Montenegro, saying that their level “is clearly not in line with the centuries-old tradition of fraternal friendship and the spiritual commonality of our nations.”

“Russia favors the development of ties with Montenegro on a mutually beneficial basis,” Putin said.
