Religious tension mounts after attacks on Ethiopian churches over fake rumors

ADDIS ABABA – Reports reaching Globe Afrique say seven churches were attacked over the weekend in the south of the country allegedly by Muslim believers due to fake news.
Some of the evangelical churches were set ablaze and others were destroyed. The incidence took place in Alaba Kulito, a town in the south region.
According to Ethiopia’s state broadcast, the attacks followed fake news reports on social media which said several mosques had been attacked by Christians in the predominantly Muslim populated area.
