NAIROBI, Kenya––President John Magufuli of Tanzania on Sunday made a mini-reshuffle of his cabinet, swapping the ministers for foreign affairs, and legal and constitutional affairs.
President Magufuli appointed Palamagamba Kabudi as the new minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation replacing Augustine Mahiga.
Mahiga, in turn, was appointed the new minister for legal and constitutional affairs, according to a release from the Directorate of Presidential Communication at State House in the commercial capital, Dar es Salaam.
The newly designated foreign minister, Kabudi, has been leading negotiations with mining companies and amendment of mining laws aimed at ensuring that the country benefited from the mining sector.
According to a release from the presidency, the statement said the new ministers will be sworn in by Magufuli at State House on Monday.
