Tunisian president Beji Caid Essebsi leaves military hospital

NAIROBI – The President of Tunisia, Beji Caid Essebsi departed the country’s military hospital in good health, the Tunisian presidency announced in a statement on yesterday.

According to reliable presidential sources, the 93-year-old president was rushed to the military hospital on Thursday in the capital Tunis following a “serious health problem.”

The latest incident is the second serious health setback after another one happened a few days ago.

Last week Saturday, President Essebsi was also admitted into the military hospital in Tunis for medical examinations over an indisposition diagnosed as “not dangerous.”

The Tunisian leader was born in November 1926 and took over the Tunisian presidency after winning the 2014 presidential elections.
